Recruiting organizations are shifting from the traditional recruiting/sourcing model to one that also includes responsibility for marketing the employee brand and value propositions of the company. One goal of this employer branding effort is to build talent pipelines that the recruiters/sourcers can utilize for talent acquisition. 

This session will feature a panel of industry experts from a variety of companies and industries and was designed to provide recruiters with tools and tips for transitioning into talent marketers.

Mary Judy (MJ) Nguyen as Manager, Workplace Services in Santa Clara. MJ is a passionate, life-long learner, with a background in health and wellness, as well as workplace services. She has spent time at Twitter and most recently Imperva in Redwood City.

A self-described Asian-Okie (Born in Oklahoma and raised in California) from a family of nine, MJ is passionate about fitness and traveling with her life partner. Together they travel the world in searching for amazing food, understanding diverse cultures, taking on various adventures on land and water. When not gallivanting around the world, they stay fit by running in half marathons or chasing their two fur babies Daisy and Max down in Carmel on the weekends. MJ will be focusing on our employee experience programs, Food Services, Fitness, Transportation, Amenities & Perks, Events and much more

Robert is ServiceNow’s Manager of Talent Attraction, where he leads the Early Career Recruiting team and Global Employee Referral Program. He’s spent 15 years scaling recruitment operations and managing teams at small, medium, and large tech companies. In his spare time, he's at the dog park with family or going top-shelf at the local ice hockey rink.

Eric is a self-professed workplace geek, who cares deeply about employee experience and corporate environments.  He developed his appreciation for the workplace over more than twenty-five years of broad-based real estate and facilities experience across a multitude of industries, corporate settings, and cultures.  Currently plying his trade at ServiceNow, Eric draws on his experience from career stops at Salesforce, Visa, Nestle, and Novartis to ensure his employee customers are happy and engaged.   When not waxing poetic about workplace or building innovative employee service programs, Eric can often be found at the local heavy metal venue in the middle of the mosh pit or on the basketball court wearing the striped shirt and blowing a whistle.

Emily Ransone is the Co-Owner and Principal at SideMark, a leading office furniture dealer in the Bay Area. Emily has supported organizations as Board Member, sought-after speaker and facilitator including Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley, CoreNet, CREW, Lean in Circle and RED.

Emily brings people together as she fosters conversations to drive results for clients, industry partners and SideMark team. Casey is a Recruiting Manager at Facebook focusing on emerging AR/VR technologies.  He has 16 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition and marries his deep passion and love for gaming and technology with guiding people to their dream careers.

A South Carolina native, Casey received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University prior to moving to San Francisco where he resides with his wife and son. When he is engaging in the broader technology community at meetups, hangouts, and gaming conferences, you can find him working on his golf swing at many of San Francisco’s beautiful courses, or watching Golden State Warriors basketball games with friends and family.

Kunal Laroia serves as the inaugural Executive Director of The Recruiters Network. In his role, Kunal oversees the development and implementation of the strategic objectives for the organization and its regional communities. Passionate about harnessing and leveraging the collective wisdom of Human Resource & Recruitment professionals, Kunal is the connector and convener of The Recruiter's Network nationwide communities.

Prior to The Recruiter's Network, Kunal consulted with talent acquisition teams to support their overall technical hiring needs, most recently at Hired. With deep and diverse experience in engaging startups, Kunal has also served as a lead community organizer for TechStars Startup Week, Membership & Community Manager at Galvanize, and is the Founder of Arizona-based Telescope Ventures which helps seed stage companies connect with and hire local engineering and design graduates.

From time-to-time you can find Kunal on the golf course, experiencing new wines, exploring to new destinations, and taking flying lessons as a pilot-in-training.

Lisa is the Vice President of Talent Acquisition for Mechanics Bank, where she spearheads all aspects of Talent Acquisition encompassing strategy and process along with leading a team of experienced recruiters to find the paramount talent in the marketplace.  She is extremely passionate about talent acquisition and ensuring both the candidate and hiring manager have an engaging and positive experience. Prior to joining Mechanics Bank, Lisa’s progressive career spanned 18 years at Nelson Staffing with the last 10 years as the Regional Vice President for the East Region.  She oversaw the recruiting, operations and sales efforts along with building and nurturing client relationships. Lisa has been an active board member for the past 8 years with the Tri-Valley region of NCHRA, holding the co-chair, college relations, and social committee roles.

Lisa is a native Californian who resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their two Havanese doggies, Marty and Stewart (affectionately named after her idol Martha Stewart). For the last eight years, Lisa has been publishing a successful blog that reflects her passion for food, wine and entertaining.  One of her bucket list items is to travel to all 50 states and she has 19 more to go!
